The programme began with a gentle January Sunday's walk in Surrey and continues with regular monthly walks within inspirational parts of London and National parks of England and Wales. If you have always been interested in walks but a little cautious about getting lost, the leaders of these walks are happy to teach you the basics in navigation (map reading and the use of a compass)

ANGELS & DEMONS
The Xmas Ball 2007

Saturday 15th Dec. WHAT ... A ... NIGHT !!!!!

Angels and Demons has got to rank up there as one of the best events the BCS has pulled off to date.

Together with the Xmas Ball committee we transformed the ballroom of the SAS Portman, London into a lightshow of whitish-blue and crimson-red, heavenly splendour and sinful hell. Guests played their part, dressing up in theme with great enthusiasm, and boy did they look heavenly, all of them.

There were professional entertainments from Will Tang and Britpack, fun and games and prizes galore with popular party hosts JnG, charity casino that went down a storm, raffle draw with a fantastic list of prizes topped off by the must-have of 2007, the Wii. The list goes on and on. Did we forget to mention the dinner and the dancing? Sufice to say a superb time was had by all, and the emails from guests saying what a truly fabulous time they've had have been pouring in. Photos now online.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
October 2007

The 7th Annual General Meeting of the British Chinese Society was held in a venue in central London on Sunday 21st October, and we are pleased to announce that Son Ly was elected to join the executive committee. We have been lucky enough to receive Son's enthusiastic support as a volunteer over the past few years, and we are now even luckier to have his energy and enthusiasm on board the committee going forwards. All the previous executive committee members have been returned to office for the BCS year 2007/8.

HAWAII IN THE CITY
August 2007

The BCS decided to add an extra tropical flavour to the English Summer. Partyers dressed-up Hawaii-style to try to bag the best-dressed male and female prizes, there was a raffle for a return flight to Hong Kong, and then there was the crowd-pleasing limbo competition to boot. Thanks to Oasis Airlines and Western Union for sponsoring the prizes. See the photos taken on the night here
